Polypropylene is a thermoplastic resin obtained from the polymerization of propylene, which is a monomer derived from the oil refining process, with a catalytic system and under controlled pressure and temperature conditions.

In the polymerization process, the catalyst reacts with the propylene molecules (unsaturated hydrocarbon), which are sequentially bonded to form a long polypropylene molecule.

Polypropylene is known for being a versatile polyolefin with an excellent balance of mechanical properties and a good processing capacity. Likewise, This resin exhibits low density, high chemical resistance, heat deflection resistance and low permeability to water vapor, features that make this resin more attractive to consumers and it is also able to compete against other more expensive materials.
