It is a molding process in which a specific amount of molted polypropylene is injected through the cavity of an open mold, which is afterwards closed; pressure is applied while the material solidifies. Finally, the part is removed. This process is mainly used for manufacturing lids used on water bottles and carbonated drinks, among others.
