Environmental protection is a first-order issue for Propilven, and for such reason the design of the plant fulfills the whole existing national and international regulatory scheme, to guarantee that its operations are within the most reliable margins of environmental protection.

Propilven has a pre-treatment system for industrial liquid effluents, which are separated into organic and inorganic materials, and are later taken toward the general effluents treatment system of the Petrochemical Complex (PEQUIVEN).The resulting pre-treatment liquid effluents or solids are chemically and physically characterized in order to establish the appropriate treatment.

On the other hand, powder recirculation closed systems and/or particle extraction, gathering and disposition systems have been established according to the specific features of produced particles. Hydrocarbon vents and other gas emanations are treated by a flaring system which operates pursuant to the strictest national and international regulations.

In addition to the above mentioned measurements, Propilven counts with oil and non-oil water separation systems, powders and catalysts, which are properly handled to avoid environmental pollution.
